Angustum Quartzite 2019 McLaren Vale Shiraz is sourced exclusively from our Willunga South Hillside vineyard.  The rocky soils with quartzite outcrops over limestone are naturally well drained and provide challenging growing conditions that result in grapes and wines that demonstrate individual characters that reflect the unique characters of the vineyard soil and location.

Concentrated ripe Shiraz characters are displayed with both elegance and intensity, capturing the expressions of our unique vineyard site and the regional characters of the Willunga sub-region of McLaren Vale. Ripe red and black fruit flavours with subtle hints of black pepper spice are enhanced by integrated American and French oak characters, which add further depth and length to the silky fruit tannins that linger with intensity. A rich full-bodied and complex wine that evolves in the glass, exhibiting multiple layers of dark fruit, spice and oak, flavours that will evolve with time. 

This wine will continue to reward careful cellaring for 15-20 years.
